It is located Between the two valleys and at the highest point of the old city. It is perceived as the continuation of Ortahisar from the
valleys. The city walls were overtaken by Justinian's city repairs (527-565). Palace remains are from before 13th century. The other
building remains are from and after 13th century. The Tower Gate that opened to the south was demolished. Two
doors open to the Ortahisar in the north. Yukarıhisar is the inner city's the acropolis. To the east of the İçkale, on the walls there are
Byzantine relieves and a repair inscriptions of the Ottoman period (16th century). Sources indicate that the city's theater and
gymnasium are outside of the tower gates.
